Respite Care Services

Caring for a loved one is a labor of love, and it’s exhausting. Respite care provides temporary substitute care so that a family member or other regular caregiver can rest, attend to personal or work obligations, travel, or recover from illness, while your loved one stays safe and comfortable at home.

  • The same full scope of care. During a respite visit we provide the same personal care and homemaker services described above, on a temporary substitute basis, following your loved one’s written service plan.
  • Flexible scheduling. Arrange respite in advance as a one-time visit, a series of visits, or a recurring schedule. Visits are scheduled in hourly blocks, and short-notice requests are accommodated whenever qualified staff are available.
  • A careful handoff. Before the first visit, we gather your loved one’s routines, preferences, meals, mobility and safety needs, and emergency contacts, and we confirm exactly which tasks we will perform.
  • Full Reporting Back. Everything delivered during each visit is recorded in the client record, and any change in your loved one’s condition is reported to our Supervisor and to you.

Who Respite Care Is For

Spouses who need an afternoon a week to catch their breath. Adult children balancing work and caregiving. Families planning a trip. Caregivers recovering from their own illness. If you are the one everyone relies on, respite care is for you.

Around-the-Clock Support

An awake caregiver can provide non-medical support, safety supervision, toileting assistance, repositioning help, and reassurance overnight.

  • Calming redirection for confusion and agitation

The first weeks home after surgery or a hospital stay are when complications happen. We provide non-medical help with daily living and the household during the transition home, including meal preparation, mobility assistance, errands, and medication reminders, so recovery stays on track. How Your Care Is Managed

Professional Structure Behind Every Visit

Good caregiving is personal. Reliable caregiving is also managed, documented, and supervised. Here is the professional framework that stands behind every Steadfast visit.

In-Home Assessment

Before services begin, our Supervisor completes an assessment of your loved one’s functional needs, such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and meals, along with home safety considerations and personal preferences and goals.

A Written Service Plan

The service plan is the written roadmap for care. Our Supervisor develops it with you, it specifies exactly which services will be provided, by whom, and how often, and it is signed by both the Supervisor and your family before care begins.

Reviewed and Kept Current

The plan is reviewed at least annually, and any time your loved one’s condition changes. Caregivers report changes to the Supervisor right away so the plan and the level of service always match real needs.

Matching & Continuity

Caregivers are assigned based on your loved one’s needs and each caregiver’s skills and availability. We prioritize keeping the same primary caregiver to build trust and continuity, visit after visit.

Verified Visits & Back-Up Care

Caregivers record arrival and departure for every visit using our verification system. If your caregiver is ever unavailable, we arrange a qualified replacement and notify you promptly, so care never simply fails to show up.

Supervisory Visits

Our Supervisor personally visits every client’s home at least once a year to observe each caregiver, verify that services follow the service plan, and confirm that safety standards are met. Every visit is documented.

Visit Documentation & Family Communication

Caregivers document every visit. Families are contacted promptly for accidents or urgent matters, and supervisory contact occurs weekly.

Confidential Records

Every client record is kept confidential, stored securely, and shared only with authorized persons as required or allowed by law. You or your representative may review the record on written request.

24-Hour On-Call Support

An on-call coordinator is available at all times for urgent scheduling issues and care gaps. For any medical emergency, our caregivers call 911 first, then notify the agency and your designated emergency contact.
